Two More Palestinians Killed in Israeli Airstrike

An Israeli airstrike has killed two Palestinian militants in Gaza City.

The strike Tuesday is the latest in a recent series of Israeli attacks against Palestinian militants in Gaza believed to be connected to rocket attacks on Israeli targets. The two al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades members killed bring to nine the number of militants killed in Israeli airstrikes since Saturday.

Earlier Tuesday, a Palestinian militant was killed and two Israeli soldiers were wounded in a gunbattle in the West Bank town of Nablus. Palestinian witnesses say the dead man was a local commander of the Islamic Jihad militant group.

The violence comes as leaders of the Palestinian militant group Hamas are in Cairo discussing the formation of a new Palestinian government.
