Egyptian hospital workers say three young brothers were killed Saturday when a land mine they were playing with near the Suez Canal exploded.
Officials say the brothers found the mine in a village near the port city of Ismailia Saturday. They said the mine exploded when the boys pelted it with heavy stones.
Many land mines left over from the 1956 Arab-Israeli War and the 1967 Six Day War still lay unexploded in the zone around the Suez Canal.
