Iraqi officials say a car bomb has exploded near a hospital in the capital, Baghdad, killing four people and wounding 10 others.
Officials
say the bomb went off late Thursday next to the morgue of Yarmouk
hospital in western Baghdad. Car bomb attacks have become less
frequent in the Iraqi capital since the launch of security operations
by Iraqi and coalition forces last year.
In other developments,
the U.S. military says coalition forces have killed at least two
suspected militants and detained 10 others in Iraq since Wednesday.
The
military says troops killed one militant and detained three others
Thursday in a raid targeting al-Qaida near the border with Syria. In
another operation Thursday, the military says troops killed one
militant and detained three others near the northern city of Mosul.
The
military says coalition troops detained at least four other militants
in raids across central and northwestern Iraq on Thursday and Wednesday.
