US Parents Face High Costs of Raising Children

It is expensive to raise a child in the United States. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) estimates it will cost a middle-income family more than $200,000 to raise a child through high school graduation. This estimate includes housing, food, clothing and childcare expenses.

Add in the cost of a college education and the estimate can rise significantly.

VOA's Tetiana Vorozkko and Zorislav Baydyuk spoke to some parents about the cost of bringing up baby. Brian Allen narrates.
