American Phil Mahre won the overall title in 1983, 1982, and 1981.
The 27-year-old Miller clinched the 2005 men's World Cup overall championship Saturday, with a second place finish in a giant slalom race in Lenzerheide, Switzerland.
The combined time of 2:11.19 minutes gives Miller an unbeatable 204 point lead in the overall standings over Austrian rival Benjamin Raich heading into Sunday's season-ending slalom race.
Austria's Stephan Goergl won Saturday's giant slalom event (2:10.51), and Raich was third (2:11.31), a fraction of a second behind Miller. Last year's overall World Cup champion, Hermann Maier of Austria, was fourth (2:11.35).
