Asian Groups' Complaint Against Harvard Dismissed

The U.S. Department of Education has dismissed a complaint filed against Harvard University by a group of Asian-American students who claim the university uses racial quotas to keep out high-scoring Asians.

The department’s Office for Civil Rights rejected the complaint filed in May by more than 60 Chinese, Indian, Korean and Pakistani groups.

The groups said they were "very disappointed'' with the Education Department's decision.

Harvard has said that its admission policies have been found to be "fully compliant with federal law,'' and that it "has demonstrated a strong record of recruiting and admitting Asian-American students.''
