Israeli police say they have detained dozens of current and former public officials in a wide-spread corruption probe.

Police spokeswoman Luba Samri said the alleged crimes include fraud, breach of trust and money laundering.

None of the 30 suspects were named.

Deputy Interior Minister Faina Kirshenbaum told Israeli television she was one of the officials called in for questioning, but denied any wrongdoing.

Kirshenbaum, who is also a member of the Knesset with the Yisrael Beytenu party, said she had "no clue what the investigation is about."
