Shooting incidents at two U.S. universities have left two people dead and at least three others wounded Friday.
During the early morning hours, Police were called to a parking lot on the campus of Northern Arizona University (NAU) Friday after gunfire was heard.
An altercation between two student groups had ended in a shooting incident that left one person dead and three others wounded.
The victim was identified as student Colin Brough and a second student, 18-year-old Steven Jones was taken into custody.
“This is not going to be a normal day at NAU. Our hearts are heavy,” said university president Rita Cheng
The campus of a Texas Southern University in Houston was on lockdown later Friday after a shooting in a university-owned apartment complex on the edge of campus killed one person. Classes were cancelled for the day.
