US Aid Worker Released From Haitian Prison

U.S. citizen Paul Waggoner is escorted by police to court in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, 30 Dec 2010

A U.S. aid group says one of its workers accused of kidnapping an infant from Haitian hospital has been released from prison in Port-au-Prince.

Materials Management Relief Corps says a judge released Paul Waggoner Wednesday. The group says he is receiving medical attention.

Waggoner was arrested December 12.

A man accused him of kidnapping his 15-month-old son from the hospital. But MMRC says the boy died in February in a hospital where Waggoner was volunteering.

The group says the boy's father viewed the body but declined to take it because he lacked the resources to bury the boy.
