Daily Life in Mandalay, Burma

Mandalay is the second-largest city and the last royal capital of Burma. It is the economic hub of Upper Burma and considered the center of Burmese culture. Street scenes include images of a Buddhist temple on the popular Mandalay Hill (considered a holy mount) overlooking the city. VOA ‘s Daniel Schearf visited on March 29-30, 2012, and took the photos.
