Scientists at Stanford University say the processes behind the formation and evolution of planet Earth are similar to those that allow water to trickle through coffee grinds to brew your morning coffee. Also… Scott Carpenter, one of the legendary seven original U.S. astronauts and the second American to orbit the Earth, has died.  He was 88.
