Death Toll Rises to 122 in China Coal Mine Blast

Chinese authorities say the death toll from last week's coal mine explosion in central Henan province has risen to 122, with 26 people still missing.

Rescue crews are continuing their search for those unaccounted for at the Daping mine.

Almost 450 workers were in the mine last week near the city of Xinmi when the blast occurred, but most managed to escape.

China's coal mines are among the world's deadliest. An estimated 4,100 people died in floods, explosions and other coal mine accidents during the past 12 months.
