A man suspected of killing a U.S. Drug Enforcement agent 10 years ago has been extradited from Mexico.
DEA officials said Saturday Augustin Vasquez-Mendoza will face a murder charge in the U.S. state of Arizona in connection with the 1994 murder of agent Richard Fass.
Government officials said Mr. Fass was killed while trying to buy $160,000 of methamphetamine as an undercover agent.
Mendoza was arrested in Mexico in 2000 for the murder and has been in prison there.
A legal battle had ensued, with the Mexican Supreme Court reluctant to extradite him to the United States.
