Serbian Police Arrest Djindjic Murder Suspect

Serbian police have arrested a suspect in the March, 2003 assassination of Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic during the man's extradition from Greece.

Serb security officers took custody of reputed crime figure Dejan Milenkovic Wednesday at Athens airport before escorting him on a flight to Belgrade.

Greek police arrested Mr. Milenkovic in August in the northern city of Salonika.

Serbian authorities have put 13 reputed crime bosses and members of nationalist paramilitary groups on trial in the killing of Mr. Djindjic, Serbia's reformist prime minister.

Mr. Milenkovic is also suspected of taking part in an earlier failed attempt to kill Mr. Djindjic, when he allegedly tried to drive his truck into the prime minister's motorcade.
