British National Killed in Kabul Car Attack


Afghan authorities say a British man working as an advisor to the Afghan government has been shot dead while driving his car in Kabul.

British embassy officials have identified the victim as Steven MacQueen, who worked for the Ministry of Rural Development and Rehabilitation.

Officials say the attack occurred late Monday on a main road in front of the Dutch Embassy and a U.N. guesthouse. Reports say Mr. McQueen was killed by gunfire from another vehicle.

The attacker managed to escape.

Afghan police are investigating and have not made any arrests.
