Football: Chelsea Posts 4-2 Win Over Barcelona of Spain

A controversial header late in the second-half by captain John Terry gave England's Chelsea a 4-2 win over Barcelona of Spain and a 5-4 aggregate victory in their Champions League football (soccer) knockout round game.

AC Milan of Italy ended the hope of another title for Manchester United of England. A 1-0 victory Tuesday gave Milan a 2-0 aggregate score and a spot in the quarterfinal round.

French champion Lyon easily beat Werder Bremen of Germany, 7-2, for a 10-2 aggregate.

Four games are on Wednesday. Juventus of Italy trails nine-time champion Real Madrid of Spain, 1-0. Bayern Munich of Germany has a 3-1 lead going to Arsenal of England. Liverpool of England leads Germany's Bayer Leverkusen, 3-1. Monaco trails PSV Eindhoven of the Netherlands, 1-0.

In the remaining round of 16 game, Porto plays at Inter Milan on March 15. The two teams drew 1-1 in Portugal. The Champions League quarterfinals are April fifth and sixth with second-leg games on April 12 and 13. The semifinals are April 26 and 27 and May third and fourth. The final is May 25 in Istanbul, Turkey.
