Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia leads world number two Vijay Singh of Fiji and Americans D.J. Trahan and Joey Sindelar by two strokes after the second round of the Wachovia Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina Friday.
Garcia fired a 1-under par 71 to go to 7-under par 137 for the tournament. Singh had a 3-under-par 69 in the second round and is tied with Trahan and Sindelar at 5-under-par 139.
Trahan shot a 5-under-par 67 while defending champion Sindelar was 1-under-par in the second round. Three golfers - Americans Scott Verplank and Brett Quigley and Sweden's Richard S. Johnson - are tied for fifth at 4-under-par 140 for two rounds.
World number one Tiger Woods of the United States shot an even par, 72 Friday and is 2-under-par 142 for the tournament. The tournament is being played on the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte. The winner takes home $1,008,000.
