The second jewel of U.S Horse racing's Triple Crown -- the Preakness Stakes -- is Saturday in Baltimore, Maryland, but Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo is not the favorite to win.
"Afleet Alex", the three-year-old Arkansas Derby winner who finished third at the Kentucky Derby, is favored at 5-2 odds and will break from the number 12 post. "High Fly" was listed as the second favorite while "Closing Argument" was third choice.
Giacomo came in as the fourth choice at 6-1 and will break from the number 13 post. One horse that will not run Saturday is Kentucky Derby favorite "Bellamy Road," who has a leg injury.
This is the first time since 1992 the 1.9-km race has drawn a full field of 14 horses. The winner takes home $650,000.
The third leg of the Triple Crown -- the Belmont Stakes -- is June 11th in New York. No horse has won all three races in a single year since "Affirmed" did it in 1978.
