Authorities in Burundi have ordered a re-vote in five districts hit by violence during local elections Friday.
Election officials say the new balloting will be held Tuesday amid tightened security.
During Friday's voting, sporadic gunfire and mortar bomb attacks left at least one person dead and forced hundreds of polling stations to close.
Meantime, early election results indicate a strong showing for the former Hutu rebel group, the Forces for the Defense of Democracy.
Friday's poll marks the first multi-party election in Burundi since civil war broke out in 1993. Nearly 300,000 people died in the fighting between the country's minority ethnic Tutsis and majority Hutus.
Parliamentary elections are due in July, with a presidential vote set for August.
