A moderate earthquake has struck southern California, rattling buildings and houses, but there are no immediate reports of injuries or serious damage.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake had a magnitude of 5.3 and was centered near Yucaipa, some 120 kilometers east of Los Angeles.
A 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of northern California on Tuesday.
