Pakistan: We Helped Britain Foil Terrorist Attacks in May

update

Pakistan's Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao says Islamabad helped London foil terrorist attacks in the run up to the May general elections by providing crucial intelligence information.

He said arrests were made in a number of countries as a result of the details provided by Pakistan to Britain but declined to give other details.

Mr. Sherpao said cooperation is very good between the two nations that he said are key partners in the US-led "war on terror."

He said Islamabad is also cooperating fully with London's investigation into last week's terror bombings believed to have been carried out by British citizens of Pakistani origin.

He declined to say whether Britain had requested information from Pakistan in relation to the London attacks. Britain has a one-million strong Pakistani community.

Some information provided by AP,AFP, and Reuters.
