NBA: Hamilton Leads Pistons to Win

In National Basketball Association action Tuesday, Detroit's Richard Hamilton scored 23 points and teammate Tayshaun Prince added 21 to lead the Pistons over the visiting Portland Trailblazers 93-89.

Portland's Zach Randolph led all scorers with a career-high 37 points in the losing cause.

The win leaves Detroit 20-3 on the season - the NBA's best record, and the best 23-game record in Detroit's history. Portland, meanwhile, falls to 7-17 on the year.

Elsewhere in the NBA Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Dallas Mavericks 112-90. L.A. guard Kobe Bryant had a career-high 62 points, the highest total any NBA player has scored in 11 years. The point total brings Bryant to sixth on the Lakers all-time single game scoring record behind Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West.
