Third-seed Amelie Mauresemo will face eighth-seed Justine Henin-Hardenne of Belgium in the women's final of the Australian Open tennis tournament in Melbourne.
Mauresemo advanced after Belgium's Kim Clijsters was forced to retire Thursday from their semi-final match with an injury. Mauresemo was leading 3-2 in the third set when Clijster, the world's number one ranked woman, rolled her ankle and could not continue.
Earlier, Henin-Hardenne, the 2004 Australian Open champion, advanced to the finals by virture of her 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 win over fourth seeded Maria Sharapova of Russia.
