Pacers Open NBA Playoff Run With Win

The Indiana Pacers have opened their National Basketball Association playoff run with a 90-88 win over the New Jersey Nets thanks to a pair of late free throws by Anthony Johnson.

The former New Jersey Nets guard gave Indiana the winning margin over his old team with less than one second remaining Sunday in Game One of the Eastern Conference first-round series. The sixth-seeded Pacers became the first road team to win a game in this postseason. Game Two is Tuesday in New Jersey before the best-of-seven series shifts to Indiana.

In Phoenix, the Suns held off the visiting Los Angeles Lakers, 107-102, to win the first game of their Western Conference series. Game Two is Wednesday in Phoenix.

Also Sunday, the Milwaukee Bucks are in Detroit to play the Pistons, and the Dallas Mavericks host the Memphis Grizzlies.
