Wimbledon Tennis Championships Get Under Way Monday

World number one and defending men's champion Roger Federer will begin his title defense when the two-week Wimbledon tennis championships get under way in London.

The top-seeded Federer takes on Frenchman Richard Gasquet on Center Court in the tournament's opening match on Monday. Women's top seed Amelie Mauresmo of France starts her Wimbledon campaign on Tuesday.

Among top 10-seeded women in action Monday, number two Kim Clijsters of Belgium faces Russia's Vera Zvonareva, Belgian's third-seeded Justine Henin-Hardenne plays Meng Yuan of China, number five Svetlana Kuznetsova of Russia takes on Italy's Romina Oprandi, and eighth-seeded Patty Schnyder of Switzerland is challenged by Antonella Serra Zanetta of Italy.

In the men's draw, fourth-seeded David Nalbandian of Argentina meets South African Wesley Moodie, number seven Mario Ancic of Croatia plays Spaniard Nicolas Almagro, and eighth-seeded American James Blake battles Kristian Pless of Denmark.
