A prison official in Pakistan says four Muslim men have been hanged for gang-raping a young Christian woman.
The official said the men were hanged early Thursday at a prison in Faisalabad.
President Pervez Musharraf rejected the men's pleas for mercy after they lost court appeals to overturn their convictions.
Christians are a small minority in mostly Muslim Pakistan, and incidents of sectarian violence are rare.
But violence against women is common with hundreds of women raped and murdered every year. Women often fall victim to so-called honor killings by their own families for shaming their relatives.
