Serbia Gives Croatian Prosecutors Video Believed to Show War Crimes

Serbia's special war crimes prosecutor has given his colleagues in Croatia and at the United Nations war crimes tribunal a video recording that purports to show war crimes committed against ethnic Serbs in Croatia.

The footage was recently broadcast by Serbian television stations. It appears to show members of Croatian and Bosnian paramilitary groups harassing Serb prisoners and executing one of them during a 1995 sweep through Serb-held areas of Croatia.

Croatian officials say they believe the video makes it obvious that members of the Croatian army did not participate in the crimes. They insisted the events happened in neighboring Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The 1995 offensive sent some 200,000 Croatian Serbs fleeing their homes.
