Favored Teferi Wodajo of Ethiopia has won the Cologne Marathon in Germany with a time of 2:11:18.
Wodajo, the pre-race favorite, completed Sunday's 42.2-kilometer race 50 seconds ahead Kenya's Benjamin Itok (2:12:08). Itok's countryman, Francis Kiprop, took third place another 51 seconds back.
Former European Championships silver medalist Luminita Zaituc of Germany won the women's race with a time of 2:28:24. Sun Weiwei of China was second, 1:14 back. Yelena Tichonova of Russia was third (2:45:54).
