Nuggets Get First Win of NBA Season

Carmelo Anthony scored 31 points as Denver beat the Philadelphia 76ers 108-101 for the Nuggets' first win of the NBA season.

Andre Miller scored 18 points, while Marcus Camby had 10 points and 11 rebounds for Denver.

Allen Iverson scored 21 points for the Sixers, who dropped their third straight game.

Elsewhere in the NBA, Joe Johnson scored 34 points and teammate Josh Smith scored 29 to lead the Atlanta Hawks to a 111-102 win over the Toronto Raptors. The Washington Wizards defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 116-111. Gilbert Arenas scored 13 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter as the Wizards overcame an 11-point deficit in the final period.

The Seattle SuperSonics downed the Charlotte Bobcats 99-85. Indiana's Al Harrington tied a season high with 32 points to lead the Pacers to a 93-83 victory over the Orlando Magic. The Utah Jazz beat the Boston Celtics 107-100.

Dwayne Wade scored 34 points and teammate Udonis Haslem had a career-high 28 points as the Miami Heat defeated the New Jersey Nets 113-106. Houston's Yao Ming scored 35 points, grabbed 17 rebounds and blocked seven shots in the Rockets' 103-94 win over the New York Knicks. The Portland Trail Blazers rallied from a 27-point deficit to edge the New Orleans Hornets 92-91, and the Detroit Pistons downed the Los Angeles Lakers 97-83.
