Bye bye, Sligh: Chris Sligh was bounced from the March 28 edition of American Idol, narrowing the field of hopefuls to nine.
The rotund 28-year-old, who once claimed he was "bringing chubby back" to the competition, received the fewest nationwide votes after performing "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" by The Police.
Judge Simon Cowell said "I think it's bye bye curly," referring to Chris' signature mop of hair.
The sixth season of American Idol remains the top-rated show in the United States, attracting 26 to 37 million viewers per telecast. The winner will be chosen in May.
