A senior manager Zimbabwe's Lengthens Football Club said the team fired coach Josten Mathuthu and his deputy after the team's lost two games over the long Easter weekend, naming manager Mandla Masuku to replace him.
Managers taken aback by the defeats handed Lengthens by Hwange and Caps United said they were determined that the Dzivarasekwa team would not be sent back down to Division One from which it emerged at the end of last season.
Lengthens Vice Chairman Brian Mafurambudzi told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that Mathuthu had had his chance.
