NHL Playoffs: Ducks Beat Red Wings

The Anaheim Ducks are one win away from advancing to the National Hockey League Stanley Cup finals for the second time in team history after taking a three-games-to-two lead over Detroit in their Western Conference playoff series.

Anaheim All-Star Teemu Selanne scored nearly 12 minutes into overtime to lift the Ducks 2-1 over the host Red Wings in Sunday's game five of the best-of-seven conference championship series.

Scott Niedermayer forced overtime with a game-tying power play goal for the Ducks with just 48 seconds left in regulation time.

Game six is Tuesday in Anaheim.

The winner of the Anaheim and Detroit Western Conference series will take on the Eastern Conference champion Ottawa Senators in a best-of-seven series for the NHL championship and the prestigious Stanley Cup trophy.
