The Rolling Stones played "Start Me Up" to kick off their latest European tour - but many of their fans remained stuck in neutral.
Some 33,000 ticket-holders in Werchter, Belgium endured a 48 kilometer-long traffic jam to reach the concert, worsened by the presence of a nearby accident.
The "A Bigger Bang" tour will feature 30 shows across Europe, including stops in Belgrade, Serbia and St. Petersburg, Russia, which the band has never visited.
The tour will also touch down in Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, and Scandanavia.
The Rolling Stones' 2006 tour is the highest-grossing rock jaunt in history, netting more than $100 million and placing them atop "Forbes" Magazine's annual list of music's biggest earners.
