A man who died in a dog attack at the home of actor Ving Rhames was on August 4 identified as Jacob Adams, 40, of Los Angeles. Los Angeles County coroner's officials, who released the man's identity, said the exact cause of death was unkown pending an autopsy.
Police say Adams had been living on Rhames' Brentwood property as a caretaker for the actor's dogs when he was attacked on August 3.
Two mastiffs, each weighing approximately 90 kilograms, apparently attacked Adams. Officers say his body bore numerous bite marks when they found him on the front lawn.
Coroner's officials said on August 3 that he may have also died from heart failure during the attack. Police say animal services seized three bull mastiffs and an English bulldog following the attack.
Rhames, 46, whose screen credits include Pulp Fiction and the Mission: Impossible series, was not home when the attack occurred.
