MLB: Boston Red Sox reach American League Championship series

The Boston Red Sox are going to Major League Baseball's American League Championship series.

The visiting Red Sox beat the Los Angeles Angels at Anaheim Sunday nine to one, to take the best-of-five playoff series three games to none.

The Red Sox capped the game with a seven-run eighth inning. Veteran Boston ace Curt Schilling pitched seven strong innings to get credited with the win.

The Cleveland Indians will try to eliminate the New York Yankees in their American League playoff series Sunday. The Yankees trail the series two games to none. In what could be his last game as the Yankees manager, Joe Torre is sending veteran Roger Clemens to the mound.

Jake Westbrook will be the starting pitcher for the Indians. He will be trying to help Cleveland become the first team to sweep the Yankees in 26 postseason series under Torre.

The Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks have both won their series and will face off for the National League championship.
