The surprising Colorado Rockies will play in Major League Baseball's World Series for the first time in their history, after completing a four-game sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the National League Championship Series.
The Rockies scored six runs in the fourth inning Monday on the way to beating the visiting Diamondbacks, 6-4. Matt Holliday capped the big inning with a three-run home run.
The Rockies - who were just a strike away from post-season elimination in the final days of the regular season - join the 1976 Cincinnati "Big Red Machine" as the only teams to start a post-season with seven straight wins. Colorado has won 21 of its last 22 games.
The Rockies now have eight days of rest before the start of the World Series in either Boston or Cleveland.
