Fans of Zimbabwe's national soccer team, the Warriors, are urging the Zimbabwe Football Association to name a permanent replacement coach to take charge of the national team ahead of world cup qualifiers.
The Warriors have been coached by former player Norman Mapeza since June, when management removed coach Charles Mhlauri by dissolving the entire coaching staff after Zimbabwe failed to qualify for the 2008 Africa Cup Of Nations tourney.
Zimbabwe drew into Group Two in African qualifying rounds for the 2010 World Cup to be held in South Africa and will be matched against Guinea, Namibia and Kenya.
Warriors fan Tichaona Kamuteku told reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe that he is confident the Warriors will not disappoint – but called on ZIFA to strengthen the team’s technical support ahead of the qualifiers.
