Cseh, Dutch Break World Marks at Euro Swimming

For the second day in a row, Hungarian swimmer Laszlo Cseh has broken a world record at the European Short Course swimming championships in Debrecen, Hungary.

Cseh finished the 400-meter individual medley in 3:59.33 seconds, nearly one second faster than his previous record (4:00.37), set in Trieste, Italy two years ago. Thursday, the Hungarian swimmer set a new world mark in the men's 200-meter individual medley, finishing in 1:52.89 seconds.

The Netherlands also set a world record in the women's 4 x 50-meter freestyle relay, finishing in 1:34.82 seconds. The Dutch team held the previous record (1:36.27) set two years ago in Italy.

Short-course races are swum in a 25-meter pool instead of the Olympic standard 50-meter pool.
