Diverticulosis is a common condition. With diverticulosis, pouches or pockets form on the outside of the colon. It is not serious unless the pouches become inflamed. At that point, it becomes diverticulitis, a potentially life-threatening disease. VOA's Carol Pearson reports that medical advice on managing diverticulosis is now changing.
