The museums of the Smithsonian Institution line Washington's National Mall and are a popular destination for visitors to the nation's capital. The Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden is dedicated to modern art and houses one of the most extensive collections of contemporary art in the world.
One of its
most popular attractions is not a painting or a sculpture but a tree planted by
Yoko Ono in memory of her husband former Beatle John Lennon. VOA's Irina Van
Dusen introduces us to the museum's Wish Tree, a living piece of interactive
art. Brian Allen narrates.
