Tuesday, April 9 marked two anniversaries in the Middle East.
One was the 1948 massacre at Deir Yassin in which more than a hundred Palestinian men, women, and children died at the hands of a Zionist militia called the Irgun.
The other was Holocaust Remembrance Day in which Jews around the world mourned the death of six million at the hands of the Nazis.
Both anniversaries illustrate the depth of feelings and memory that color the current crisis in the Middle East. With more, here's Judith Latham and our Dateline report, "Memory and Exile."
