US, Jamaica Face Off in Pre-World Cup Friendly Match - 2002-05-16

The U.S. men's soccer team takes on Jamaica Thursday in an international friendly match at Giants' Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. U.S. Coach Bruce Arena is looking to replace some injured stars.

Midfielder Chris Armas tore a knee ligament in Sunday's 2-1 win over Uruguay, and will miss the World Cup in South Korea and Japan. Colombian-born defender Carlos Llamosa is still recovering from a hamstring pull, but could play.

When these two teams last played, last October, the U.S. men beat Jamaica, 2-1. The U.S. team has a final warmup match, Sunday, against the Netherlands, at Foxboro, Massachusetts, before departing for the World Cup.
