McAdams, Lisa - 2002-08-07


Lisa McAdams is VOA's Moscow Bureau Chief, charged with covering Russia and the former Soviet Republics.

Ms. McAdams began her career at VOA in 1988 in the newsroom, working in a variety of jobs from newswriter/editor, to general assignment reporter to anchor/host.

From 1995-2000, Lisa was based in Prague for Radio Free Europe as a Senior Correspondent covering Central & Eastern Europe. Reporting highlights include Bosnia's first post-war national elections, Kosovo-Macedonia unrest and opposition presidential elections in Belarus. Lisa later returned to the U.S. to serve as RFE's State Department Correspondent, before returning to VOA.

Lisa is an Honors graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in Broadcast Journalism.

In her spare time, Lisa is an avid traveler and reader of travel literature, who looks forward to someday riding the Orient Express. She also swims, hikes and enjoys the ballet.
