The World Health Organization, W-H-O, says it is racing against time to prevent thousands of children from going blind. Health officials' report every minute; one child goes blind somewhere in the world. The W-H-O is launching a project to save the sight of over two hundred and fifty thousand children every year. Dr. Gopal Pokhartl is the medical officer in the W-H-O's department of prevention and control of blindness and deafness.
