The International Association of Athletics Federations has ratified two world records set by Slovenia's Jolanda Ceplak and Russian Svetlana Feofanova.
Ceplak set a new world record of 1:55.82 seconds in the women's indoor 800-meters race at the European Indoor Championships in Vienna, Austria March 3. The time was 58-100ths of one second faster than the old mark set by the former East Germany's Christine Wachtel in 1988.
Feofanova set a new pole vault record of 4.75 meters March 3 at the same meet. She bettered her own mark by one centimeter.
