Michael Kitchen worked as a reporter and editor in Taipei, Phnom Penh and Washington prior to joining VOA.
In his free time, he enjoys playing saxophone and reading popular science books. Michael grew up in Los Angeles and studied at UC Berkely.
He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, French and speaks some Russian and Arabic.
