More Than 120 Feared Dead in DRC Plane Mishap - 2003-05-09

Military officials in the Democratic Republic of Congo say more than 120 people are believed to have died after being sucked out of an airplane in mid-flight.

Officials in Kinshasa say the rear cargo hatch of a Russian-made Ilyushin-76 popped open accidentally. The official says all passengers on the chartered flight were sucked out.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.
