Australian golfer Rachel Teske beat world number one Annika Sorenstam and two other players in a four-way sudden-death playoff to clinch the Giant Eagle Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Classic in Vienna, Ohio.
Teske birdied the third hole of the playoff to win her first tournament in nearly a year. In addition to Sorenstam of Sweden, she beat Lori Kane of Canada and American Jennifer Rosales to capture her seventh career victory.
Teske completed the third and final round with a three-under-par 69, and finished the tournament with an overall score of 12-under-par 204. Kane shot four birdies for a tournament record nine-under-par 63. Sorenstam and Rosales each carded four-under-par 68 in the final round.
Sorenstam was going for her third straight title since last month when she became the first woman in 58 years to play in an otherwise all-male Professional Golf Association (PGA) event.
