Afghan President Hamid Karzai says al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden could be hiding along the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Mr. Karzai made the comment to reporters Thursday during a visit to Warsaw, where he was thanking Polish leaders for sending troops to Kabul as part of an international peacekeeping force.
The Afghan leader said he agreed with the suggestion made by Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf during his visit to Washington this week that the head of the al-Qaida terrorist organization could be moving around along the remote border between their countries.
Mr. Karzai says he is grateful that the Pakistani leader was working to fight terrorists, adding that cooperation between Afghanistan and Pakistan in combating terrorism is very important.
Mr. Karzai is meeting with Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski during the short visit to Warsaw.
