Al-Saadi Gaddafi, the son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, signed a two-year contract with Italian Serie-A football team Perugia on Sunday.
Gaddafi, 30 was presented to the press by club president Luciano Gaucci at his castle in Torre Alfina southwest of Perugia.
Gaddafi previously played for Libyan club team Al-Ittihad and has always followed Italian football closely. He owns a small stake in Serie-A champion Juventus and was linked with a move to buy Rome's cash-strapped Lazio earlier this year.
The younger Gaddafi is also the vice-president of Libya's national federation and is bidding to become president of the African Football Confederation.
